Lead, Software Support

The Northern Trust Company seeks a Lead, Software Support to develop, maintain, and enhance software applications for non-legacy/non-mainframe systems. Develop and maintain computer programs, including testing, debugging, and installation. Conduct preliminary analysis for software development projects. Troubleshoot production issues, including job failure, and apply code fix. Evaluate and make recommendations on techniques, practices, or technologies that would enhance business needs. Act as the technical or business consultant on project development/production health, new techniques, and the implementation of new processes.

Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Information Systems, or a related STEM field, followed by 7 years of progressively responsible experience with software design, development, testing, and implementation for a financial services institution. Experience must include a minimum of: 5 years of experience leading maintenance for custom software applications and performing root cause analysis and problem management; 5 years of experience with coding and debugging software applications; 5 years of experience working closely with product owner, business users, and other IT teams to elicit requirements; 5 years of experience performing code and unit testing; 5 years of experience with incident management, ticket workflows, and use of escalation; 5 years of experience with cloud applications and IT security; and 5 years of experience with ADF, Apache Ant, CatchPoint/Splunk/SiteScope/Introscope/Dynatrace (logging and alerting), Eclipse, Hibernate, J2EE, Java, JavaScript, JIRA, JSF, JSP, Maven, MQ Solace, MS SQL, Oracle, PCF (cloud based services), PL/SQL, RAD & RapidSQL, ServiceNow, Servlet, Spring, Struts, Unix/Linux commands and scripting, Web Services (REST & SOAP), and WebLogic 12c.
