With functions spanning global business and consumer marketing, consumer insights, creative, brand marketing, and marketing operations, the team creates marketing initiatives across the entire Snap Inc. ecosystem.
The Lead Strategist is responsible for identifying marketing problems and opportunities for Snapchat’s revenue-driving efforts that focus on influencing brand marketers, media decision-makers and creative agencies. The Lead Strategist provides in-depth understanding of the competitive landscape, audience needs, and key moments and communication channels to inspire and inform creative ideas to reach, engage and influence our prioritized audiences.
What You’ll Do:Â
Lead/champion brand strategy within the Global Business Marketing team, integrating brand behavior strategies into the overall creative strategic vision, and work with our team to find opportunities to produce effective creative ideas both within and outside pre-defined assignments
Provide thought leadership and points of view on strategic, tactical and executional opportunities
Create, present and implement short and long-term strategies for the Snapchat brand; deliverables may include research, strategic briefs, scope and planning documents
Partner with Brand Makers Studio and broader Snapchat team to break down silos and facilitate integrated, cross-functional teamwork
Partner with Creatives to concept, explore and push the creation of good work
Partners with data and insights teams to inform and inspire strategies, and measure the performance of our efforts
Develop briefs, pitch new ideas and manage strategic initiatives
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Â
A deep understanding of the digital marketplace — tech, culture and trends
Superior knowledge of the social media platform landscape, including competitor strengths and weaknesses
Experience partnering with data science and research teams to identify insights that matter to marketers
Expert knowledge of media planning and buying audience
Keeps abreast of industry trends, best practices and market opportunities
Ability to build honest, direct relationships with colleagues and outside partners
Ability to debate constructively and ask challenging questions
Strong initiative, attention to detail and follow-through skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees
Enthusiasm for B2B marketing
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience
5+ years experience developing business audience and marketplace strategy
After-hours work and overnight travel required
Preferred Qualifications
Creative agency or brand marketing experience preferred
History of being a personal Snapchat user is a plus

For CA based applicants:Â
The base salary range for this position is $155,000 - 220,000
This position is eligible for a discretionary performance-based bonus
This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs
For NY based applicants:Â
The base salary range for this position is $165,000 - 230,000
This position is eligible for a discretionary performance-based bonus
This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs
