Night - 08 Hour (United States of America)

This is a Stanford Health Care job.

A Brief Overview
The Support Services Lead monitors and reports on work activities, attendance and problems for the assigned shift supporting the operations of Supply Distribution for the Medical Center. Participates as assigned in training, performance evaluations and corrective action. Performs duties of Support Service Assistant I and II. May substitute for Supervisor during absences of the latter.

What you will do
  • Assists in the training of all new employees and in teaching new or revised procedures.
  • Calls in additional staff and makes changes on work schedule in the event of absences.
  • Follows Medical Center Infection Prevention policies and procedures.
  • Follows Medical Center safety guidelines for self, patients, visitors and employees.
  • Is responsible for self-assessment and personal professional development of new skills or clinical knowledge to maintain current with position.
  • Maintains a professional work environment: keeps work area clean and organized.
  • Makes certain that rest periods and meal breaks are taken according to schedule.
  • Manages information utilizing appropriate manual or electronic systems.
  • Monitors work activity and reports discrepancies or unusual events to the Supervisor.
  • Presents change of shift report.
  • Provides input for the performance evaluations of assigned staff and may initiate corrective action.
  • Responds to patient and non-patient emergencies according to Medical Center policies and procedures and job requirements.
  • Seeks resources for direction, when necessary.
  • Takes daily roll and reports all tardiness and absences to Supervisor.
  • When assigned, performs duties of Support Service Assistant I or II.

Education Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Experience Qualifications
  • One (1) year of directly related work experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ability to maintain professional behavior and appearance
  • Ability to manage time
  • Ability to perform work-lead responsibilities such as training and orienting new employees, assigning and reviewing work for completeness and accuracy, scheduling work, and other coordinating and support duties for a supervisor/manager
  • Ability to promote a positive work environment by practicing good communication, diversity awareness and teamwork
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for the job
  • Ability to state the hospital and department mission statements and understand how they participate in and contribute to them
  • Ability to work effectively as a leader and a team player
  • Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area
  • Knowledge of the mechanical and electrical equipment handled by the department
