Eaton's EPG CPD Circuit Protection Division is currently seeking a Lead Test Engineer.

This role offers a hybrid work schedule (3 days onsite/2 days remote) and is located at our facility in Moon Township, PA, relocation offered to those currently residiing in the U.S. This role does require up to 50% travel during product launches.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $101250.0 - $148500.0 a year.

What you'll do:

Our Lead Test Engineer is responsible for overseeing the testing of new products and features. This individual will ensure that all aspects of a product or feature are tested thoroughly before it is released to the public. Lead test engineer may also be responsible for training other employees in a safe way on how to perform quality assurance tests in the future.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for the division leadership and support for the safety, development, and operation of Manufacturing Process Control and Test Equipment.
  • Provides technical support and advice to engineering groups. Guides and directs plant operations and test engineering personnel on the set-up and performance of tests, process upgrades or other continuous improvements
  • Acts as liaison with outside suppliers in establishing or modifying specifications for purchased items.
  • Devises and applies testing procedures for parts or sub-assemblies received from outside vendors.
  • Participates in the development, maintenance and refinement of internal quality control and reliability programs.
  • Provides BOC input and development opportunities for key process control and test positions within the operations.
  • Supports industrialization and continuous improvement activities by strengthening execution around control plans, quality management and lean manufacturing tools.
  • Provide technical leadership and support in the development of control plans along with test and process specification creation and approval.
  • Consults with teams to improve safety, technology, standards and create strategic program goals
  • Consults with product development teams to provide productivity, quality and test guidance
  • Provides technical leadership and support to internal and external equipment suppliers including safety and other standards such as IT, PCaT etc.
  • Provides technical leadership for the creation and deployment of PCaT systems for process control or testing.
  • Provides technical leadership and support for the introduction of manufacturing test systems startup, debug, training, and qualification for release including MSAs

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • 5 years' experience in designing, building, and operating production test equipment as well as software testing or quality assurance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering form an accredited Institution
  • Black Belt certification
  • 10 years of overall testing experience
  • Experience with switchgear, breakers, drives, and contactors
  • Bi-lingual, preferable Spanish
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, quality management. processes, program management

Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and with a team to meet deadlines
  • Competence in NI LabVIEW, TestStand, and test scripts
  • Electrical Controls Product Knowledge
  • Electrical and Mechanical Safety Knowledge
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical & non-technical individuals
  • Ability to lead teams
