Job Description

As a Lead User Interface & User Experience (UI/UX) Designer at Corcentric, you will join a collaborative team within an ambitious, entrepreneurial global organization. You will drive the effort to unify and transform the UI/UX experiences for Corcentric's best-in-class software suites to help finance and procurement professionals optimize their business functions and outcomes. As a capable and motivated individual, you will lead efforts to make design the centerpiece in creating useful, usable, and desirable products, operating as a peer and partner with Product Management and Engineering.

We believe our business-to-business (B2B) software solutions should be designed and developed with the same care, craft and contemporary human-centered practices as consumer software. This hands-on leader will manage a team of UI/UX Designer, presenting a clear vision of customer personas and their business needs through strong peer collaboration, thoughtful planning and coordination across teams, taming complexity for our users, and leading the full range of design practice, from up-front research, insights, and strategy, through to ideation, prototyping, testing, and delivery of final designs.

As a Lead UI/UX Designer, you'll be responsible for:

  • Leading a team in the design and re-design of product experiences across our Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings
  • Understanding customer needs and driving the evolution of the product by translating business requirements into software product functionality
  • Actively monitoring and analyzing trends, leading user experience research of targeted users of our solutions, their behaviors, and requirements to improve their experience
  • Engaging with customers and internal stakeholders to establish feedback loops and drive a customer-focused approach to evolving legacy designs into new design system
  • Define UI/UX methodology and principles, present work and articulate strategy and design decisions to senior leadership
  • Driving innovation, with your design savvy and deep understanding of user needs and behaviors
  • Contributing to product vision, roadmap, requirements, and project plans with Product Managers and Engineers
  • Communicating expectations within the design team for standards of quality by establishing a vision, providing creative direction, and critiques
  • Defining and executing the UI/UX roadmap, balancing needs and priorities across multiple product streams
  • Illustrating design options using storyboards, process flows, prototypes, and sitemaps along with thorough research and analyses as well as potential updates to the design system
  • Decomposing functionality of existing products, and documenting specifications to create the next generation, unified functionality
  • Leveraging product analytics tools to improve product experience and understand opportunities to improve product/feature adoption
  • Acting as a cross-functional leader & motivator to remove organizational roadblocks and foster a fun, creative, outcome-driven team environment
  • Effectively driving the hiring, professional development, and ongoing management of the design team

Requirements

You'll need to have:

  • Senior-level experience as a UX/UI designer, artist, or creative resource for a technology company, getting into the weeds and being the UI/UX go-to expert
  • Professional experience managing a team, with excellent leadership skills
  • A strong digital portfolio that demonstrates a solid understanding of product strategy, user experience, visual design excellence, along with showcasing your experience with prototyping tools (please include with application)
  • Substantial familiarity with enterprise application interfaces
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies
  • A track record of taking ownership, providing cross-functional leadership and making smart business decisions
  • Proficiency in a variety of design/prototyping tools such as Axure, Sketch, Figma, UXPin or similar
  • Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques
  • Undergraduate degree in technical or design related field including human-computer interaction (HCI) or equivalent professional experience.

  • A Master's in degree user experience (UX), human-computer interaction (HCI) or similar formal UX training or certification
  • Psychology-relevant formal training or educational focus
