Lead UX Architect
Job Description
Cox Automotive is looking for a talented and passionate Lead UX Architect. In this role, you will be a key member of a cross-functional team that is tasked with creating trust and transparency within vehicle trade-in and wholesaling experiences for consumers and dealers. Working with colleagues from Product Management and Engineering, you will conduct research with consumers and clients to inform the creation of flows, wireframes, and low-resolution prototypes. You will also partner with teams across the Cox Automotive ecosystem to bring integrated experiences to market. Lead design and evaluation of visual human interfaces using user-centered design principles throughout the full user experience process, including product strategy, user research, application concepts (prototyping), and visual design. Identify and translate user needs into digital products and applications by iterating on designs and gathering feedback to improve products. Work with Agile team members to educate product and engineering leaders on UX best practices. Deliver features satisfying customers and delivering on business objectives.

Responsibilities
- Design simple, and engaging and intuitive experiences and interactions, in both web and mobile ecosystems
- Create design deliverables such as wireframes, mockups, user personas, and interactive prototypes.
- Participate in regular design reviews and be ready to clearly rationalize and justify design work
- Create innovative design concepts based on a deep understanding of user needs and business objectives; willingness to try new approaches and iterate
- Consume and contribute back to our design language including applying design resources such as templates, Sketch symbols, icon libraries, reusable app components, style guides, design standards, and brand standards to your work.
- Work in an agile environment providing design communication and assets for the team
- Keep abreast of the latest UX design and technology trends
- Familiarity creating user research test plans and scenarios and analyze and present findings to justify design decisions
- Translate user research, market research, and live-site test findings into design solutions that deliver value for our consumers and the business
- Obtain buy-in from stakeholders, explaining how your design solution addresses the identify problem/ user need
- Support Agile delivery and respond to day-to-day questions from developers, product managers, and team leads
- Understand technical, business, and time limitations, and design within these constraints
- Engage in enterprise thinking across product lines and services that results in innovative, re-usable design solutions
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience creating wireframes, mockups, and related design documentation
- 2+ years of experience planning and conducting UX research and using findings to inform design deliverables
- 2+ years of experience: designing sprints in an Agile development process and Lean UX methodologies; Jira or Rally; using wireframing and prototyping software; performing desktop/laptop design; working with frontend code and web/mobile-based environments; and performing usability research and testing.
- Demonstrated ability to create designs that meet user needs and achieve business results
- Knowledge of current UX design strategies and trends across web and mobile platforms
- Experience designing for digital experiences (web, mobile, apps, etc.) using user-centered design practices
- Experience in iterative software delivery methodologies like Agile and SCRUM
- Excellent time-management skills, including the ability to work on concurrent projects and quickly prioritize competing tasks and responsibilities
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Independent self-starter
- Attention to detail and follow-through on completion of tasks
- Bachelor's degree in Information Design, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent work experience required, Master's degree a plus
- Previous experience in the automotive industry a plus
