ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM: Â
As a Lead UX Writer, you will use clarifying language and brand personality to help shape our digital experiences. You will collaborate with product designers and product marketers to craft clear and useful content for users, while bringing simplicity and life to tools and moments across the experience.Â
As an end-to-end contributor, you will collaborate with your team from concept through delivery on everything from small features and iterative enhancements to large system-wide initiatives. You will adhere to brand tone guidelines, and establish and maintain consistency in our product copy—from buttons and notifications to entire flows—with a unified voice.Â
In this role, you will lead the UX Writing discipline at The Knot Worldwide by bringing deep expertise and authority from within the UX Writing space and providing guidance, feedback, and skill development to our writers. You will have the opportunity to help elevate the quality and craft of UX Writing across our product experiences while influencing and shaping broader UX strategy initiatives with a focus on language. You will also be responsible for establishing operational excellence through process improvements and documentation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
You might be a good fit for this role if:
- You write compelling UX copy that is clear, concise, and useful. You create high-quality, thoughtful solutions that achieve business goals and help users complete desired actions with quantifiable impact.
- You’re a natural storyteller who can drive a cohesive narrative through an experience. You craft a user-facing voice that is relatable, human, natural and conversational, building value and trust with a brand.Â
- You’re a creative thinker with a sharp analytical mind and a generous emotional range. You adhere to brand voice and write in appropriate tones for a variety of contexts, experiences, and moments. You know when simple and brief copy is best, and when it’s ok to have a little fun.Â
- You anticipate user needs with empathy, and craft content that is context-aware while being mindful of what users are experiencing in the moment.
- You approach problems as a design thinker. You maintain a strong attention to detail. You are flexible and adaptable, taking constructive criticism with ease, and applying feedback as needed.
- You enjoy working hard; you take initiative and are responsible and reliable. You are action-oriented and energized by challenges. You take pride in the quality of your work.
- You have a point of view on best practices and standards within the industry; you have previous experience implementing efficient and effective processes for UX Writing or Content Design teams.
- You are a compassionate and strategic leader who excels at supporting and growing other UX writers.
SUCCESSFUL LEAD UX WRITER CANDIDATES HAVE:
- A Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Technical Writing, or equivalent education.
- Experience writing for digital consumer products and user experiences.
- Familiarity with agile processes and collaborative workflows.Â
- A portfolio of writing samples showcasing how your copy simplified and enhanced digital experiences and products. You can speak to your creative process, how you arrived at your solutions, and the impacts they had.
