Job Description

TIAA has an opportunity for a Leader, Information Systems Engineering who will have oversight of the operations for Production Services and Platforms to process information that support the business functions and operations. This position will lead a cross-functional engineering team that is comprised of U.S. and India-based resources focused on planning, design, engineering, integration, testing and implementation of systems engineering projects and processes associated with production tools and services.

This role will define, design, implement, management the lifecycle, controls, ensure stability and scalability and resiliency. Furthermore, this role will translate business requirements, new regulations, changes in technology and service assessments into strategies and implement plans to meet service level targets and continue to improve agility, scalability, cost effectiveness and stability.

This position manages the demand and resources to establish goals and commitments to ensure that deliverables are met; will deliver enterprise horizontal production services that include but are not limited to monitoring platforms, event and alert notification platforms, server engineering, batch management, workload release management, testing tooling, middleware engineering, messaging, and other production tools, and services as required. In addition, will provide strategic thought leadership and technical best practices across the IT operations portfolio to include the technical development and supporting the infrastructure stack design and deployment architecture including the capital expenditure versus operational expenses and buy versus build decisions. This position will be in either our Charlotte, NC or Iselin, NJ office.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Create and lead service strategies, roadmaps, and service improvement programs, establish processes to collect and incorporate key stakeholder feedback gain and gain senior leadership support• Lead a cross-functional engineering team that is comprised of U.S. and India-based resources focused on planning, design, engineering, integration, testing and implementation of systems engineering projects and processes associated with production tools and services• Provide engineering and technical support and advisement regarding problem definition, analysis, requirement development, and implementation for complex systems. Advises the management team on the upgrades and enhancements to software, hardware, processes, and network throughout the organization.• Provide people leadership including attracting and retaining talent, skills development, and transformation to promote a shift from manual and reactive to data driven, automated and proactive.• Coaches and provides system engineers with technical and strategic direction for the development and maintenance of information systems that are in-line with business goals.• Manages performance of team through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional services and engagement, motivation, and development of team. • Evolves service design and implementation to ensure stability, compliance with policies, standards and effective controls are met over the lifecycle of the service offering.• Defines and leads service improvement to continuously to drive cost reduction, improve observability, increase operational automation, and respond to new demand and changes in technology• Manages work in-take demand management and project tracking processes to ensure deadlines, quality, and reliability goals are met

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience leading large scale engineering projects/programs within a complex matrix environment which demonstrates ability to solve problems, create business cases, develop technology, and process solutions, and lead the programs successfully to deliver business value
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience working within technology in positions of increasing responsibility within an engineering, infrastructure, architecture, operations, or software development teams; possess a broad understanding of infrastructure technologies, cyber and risk vulnerability remediation, operational metrics, and financial processes applied to infrastructure and software build, run, and operate.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience managing a team
  • Industry accepted project management, agile, cloud and cyber certifications such as PMP; CISSP, CSM; AWS/Google/Azure cloud certifications; ITIL
  • Ability to create and communicate customer requirements, problem statements, technical and process solutions, business cases, program charters, and project status effectively to executive leadership and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in business process engineering, effectively leading cost optimizations, and service improvement programs
  • Ability to work with both internal/external diverse stakeholders

Base Pay Range: $146,300/yr. - $243,800/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
