Meraki’s Product Management team is seeking a driven Manager, Technical Marketing Engineering to join the Meraki Vision (MV) product team. The MV product line is one of the most successful and fastest-growing cloud managed security cameras in the market.

Meraki is changing the way the industry thinks about physical security, and you will lead the charge to continue the evolution. You will collaborate with forward-thinking engineers and excited customers to help ensure that we continue to have the best camera product portfolio. You will develop excellent technical knowledge, deliver high-impact presentations, and have a passion for learning about and evangelizing cloud physical security and machine learning technology.

As a critical member of the product team, your responsibilities include:

Team Management

  • The primary point of contact for technical deliverables from TME
  • Improve productivity by evolving the team structure to enable efficient execution of TME deliverables
  • Thoughtfully assign incoming technical projects based on skills and availability, provide ongoing feedback, remove roadblocks
  • Supervise and report status of all TME projects to leadership and partners. Plan and track timelines for the team, ensuring efficient execution and communicating to relevant partners when things change

Team Development

  • Lead the team and hold regular one-on-ones, ongoing coaching and mentorship, career development plans, performance evaluations, and compensation planning
  • Work with recruiting on targeted hiring efforts to make sure the team can meet the needs of the business

Technical Product Strategy

  • Stay on top of industry trends and understand the landscape. Work with senior PMs/ TME's on the team to investigate feature/platform innovations that add value to a broad range of customers
  • Working alongside Engineering and PM to craft a feature development strategy that satisfies Meraki’s largest customers while maintaining Dashboard’s core simplicity
  • Execute the strategic plan for technical activities consistent with the broader business strategy
  • Review/prioritize customer-reported bugs and critical issues and establish a plan to address them

Technical Enablement

  • Drive development and creation of highly impactful technical collateral to better enable our support, sales engineers, customers and partners
  • Collaborate with PM's on preparing content for SEVT's, SKO, and other training events

Field, customers, and partners

  • Maintain strong customer focus. Drive a culture of sharing user/customer feedback with Engineering to build features that will have the biggest impact to Meraki customers
  • Meet with customers and prospects, share our vision and understand their needs
  • Support large deals, and increase TME engagement on sales opportunities
  • Evangelize Meraki MV through participation in marketing events such as Cisco Live. and other industry events

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of work experience in networking technology or SaaS
  • Deep understanding and familiarity with cloud technologies and software development
  • Hands-on experience in supporting, selling, or using physical security cameras, access control systems, or machine learning technologies
  • Track record of motivating and driving large projects and large teams effectively
  • Strong user insight with a deep desire to understand top customer problems
  • Easily communicate complicated concepts to non-technical folks
  • Entrepreneurial, can-do attitude with a strong sense of product quality
  • Loves solving technical problems in creative ways
  • Deep passion for mentoring, coaching and growing people

Bonus points:

  • Experience building and leading complementary teams
  • BA/BS in EE or CS or a related technical field
  • A curious nature and desire to tinker: you want to pull things apart to see how they work
  • An understanding of the fundamentals of camera and image sensor technology
  • CCNA/CCNP/CCIE core networking certifications
  • Experience in embedded or application engineering, technical support, product testing, or QA

Compensation Range:

$160,300—$232,900 USD

For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%.  Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
