Job Description

MPH508 - Leadership and Administration in Public Health Systems

Using a systems thinking approach this course will focus on preparing students to develop entry-level competencies in public health management leadership and administration. Topics will include leadership mission and vision definition quality improvement strategic planning and marketing and other emerging topics necessary for the effective delivery and administration of public health services. Responsibilities

• Develops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus and which includes the terminal course objectives.

• Organizes prepares and regularly revises and update all course materials.

• Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software including Websites e-mail and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.

• Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students provide clarity and improve student learning.

• Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives assignment/examinations dates and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.

• Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.

• Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams and provide timely feedback to students.

• Completes other duties as assigned.

• Performs other duties as assigned

• Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

• DrPH or PhD in a public health related field is required

• A Master of Public Health graduate degree is required

• Two years of Online teaching experience at the graduate level is required

• Leadership experience in a public health setting is required

Additional Information

Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Online: In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country the expected compensation rate for this position is between $850/Earned Credit Hour to $1950/Earned Credit Hour depending on the candidate’s education and experience. Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
