The Manager, Colleague Communications, is responsible for executing a communications channel and vehicle strategy to inform and engage Technology colleagues globally and build understanding of the Technology strategy to power growth for the company. This role sits within the company's Corporate Affairs & Communications organization, and reports to and will partner with the Director, Colleague Communications, to execute a communications strategy to help keep Technology colleagues informed about and engaged in the organization's strategy, priorities, performance, and key initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the creation of a channel and vehicle strategy for the Technology organization, optimizing engagement by leveraging the company intranet, Slack, meetings/events, social media, feedback tools, and more.
- Write, edit, and manage content for communication vehicles, including the company intranet and Slack.
- Deploy innovative approaches and tactics to drive colleague engagement.
- Manage an editorial calendar aligned with business priorities.
- Support development and execution of communications for the annual internal hackathon, developers conference, and other colleague events.
- Support Technology Communications' measurement and data management practice and processes to enhance the effectiveness of colleague communications.
- Create and manage surveys and reports for online channels and vehicles.
- Refresh the Technology organization's visual identity for communication channels and vehicles, in alignment with American Express brand guidelines.
- Partner on and support the execution of colleague engagement communications and activities to support a culture of belonging and inclusion, plus continuous learning and development.
- Support content development for global leadership events, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 -7 years of experience in managing colleague communications programs within a corporate communications setting; experience working within an information technology organization or other technical environment is preferred.
- Proven track record of delivering high-impact internal communications, including development of messages, integrated communication channel strategies, strategic communications plans, innovative digital content, audience segmentation, and measurement approaches and metrics.
- Excellent writing and editing skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively across a variety of formats, tones, and audiences, including interpreting technical information into language that is understandable by and compelling to target audiences.
- Strong knowledge of communications delivery platforms and measurement tools.
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office products, especially Word, OneDrive, and PowerPoint, and ability to develop graphics and visuals to enhance the effectiveness of communications.
- Strong knowledge of content management and employee experience platforms (Unily a plus).
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional collaboration skills and an ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience required.
Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
