Job Overview

Employees in this job conduct leak survey inspections on natural gas distribution and transmission above- and below-ground-facilities. Individuals understand and utilize all leak investigation techniques to ensure a quality survey. This role may also support field operations, including deactivation of service, corrosion inspections, meter paints, meter reading, basic pipe locating and assisting with other maintenance activities, as needed. Individuals may serve as crew members engaged in installing, maintaining, and repairing gas mains and service lines.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Utilizes internal tooling and equipment to complete all leak survey activities
• Works assigned route to complete customer and compliance orders in accordance with company policies and procedures and operator qualifications procedures
• Deactivates gas service and assists in the activation of gas service
• Conducts regular meter inspections, paints and maintenance of above- and below-ground gas systems
• Completes basic tasks using hand tools, including leak investigation, assisting in mechanical joining, landscape maintenance and traffic control
• Provides assistance with all distribution activities involved with the installation, repair and maintenance of the distribution system
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High School Grad / GED
• Experience: 1+ years
• Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
• Internal candidates must have completed Florida City Gas(FCG) Training and Certification(s):

- AUT Certified
- Locate Certified
- Leak Survey Certified
- Operator Qualifications

• For all external candidates: must obtain all FCG training and certification(s) within 6 months from the date of hire

• Natural Gas Industry Experience: 2+ years
