What you will do:

You will be responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing manufacturing processes and methods required for a premier HVAC manufacturing facility. Key duties include leading and/or participating on projects that increase plant capacity, reduce cost, improve productivity, reduce job hazards, and /or improve product quality. Leads Continuous Improvement initiatives, assesses current business performance, identifies gaps, establishes, and implements improvement plans, monitors progress, and shares / acquires best-in-class ideas and processes. Responsible for Lean project execution. Ensures the facilities obtain budgetary goals set for lean manufacturing projects through partnering with facility production teams and management. Trains production teams, plans, and executes lean workshops, and documents and reports results.

How you will do it:

  • Processing engineering change requests
  • Trouble-shooting production problems
  • Assist in trouble-shooting assembly & fabrication equipment
  • Optimizing work-station layout
  • Justifying, specifying, and installing equipment
  • Introducing new products (BOM scrubbing, Manufacturing Trial Lots, Assist in Training, and work with Design Engineering on Production Issues related to Design for Manufacturing).
  • Creating and maintaining Bill of Materials and Routings (Assembly and Fabrication).
  • Supporting and/or leading Lean projects.
  • Value Stream Analysis (Current and Future State Value Stream Mapping).
  • Collaborate with C.I. Manager to assess the Current state of the plant's Operations; Develop Future State vision and implementation plan.
  • Using standard tracking and reporting systems, will prepare detailed plans, drive project performance, and assure timely completion and achievement of product / process quality and savings goals.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop a plant C.I. Roadmap, bridging business metrics gaps with either: 1. Just Do It improvements, 2. Six Sigma projects, or 3. Lean Implementation projects.
  • Accountable to impact on Operational Cost.
  • Assist in the gathering of JCMS Assessment data. Collaborate with C.I. Manager to improve Lean-relevant metrics.

What we look for:

Required

  • Degree in Engineering or other related manufacturing discipline.
  • 3+ years of Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering experience
  • Lean manufacturing principles (material flow, material presentation, process flow, workstation design).
  • Certification as a Lean Implementer Preferred, certification as Green Belt desirable. Preferred experience with all JCMS training modules.
