Learning and Development Manager
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all leadership development programs (i.e., Internship, MIT, Mentorship, IDPs, etc.)
- Actively searches, designs, and implements effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance.
- Partner with business leaders and subject matter experts to define learning objectives and develop and/or curate learning solutions.
- Working with Recruiting, leads the overall strategy, implementation, and program management for onboarding new employees.
- Establishes Key Performance Indicators and quarterly goals to assess and drive L&D impact.
- Works with HR Managers/head of HR to ensure follow-through on succession planning outcomes.
- Ensure up-to-date and innovative learning and development services.
- Updates the LMS platform with relevant content; generates user reporting; clarifies understanding of platform usage; and, maximizes/plusses up what the platform can offer.
- As needed, lead, and facilitate learning programs including classroom and remote learning, small groups, and large groups.
- Oversee evaluation and feedback of learning and development programs; assess and improve effectiveness and business impact of programs.
- Provide overall leadership and direction to the learning and development team including coaching, mentoring and development.
- Develop and manage budget for learning and development ensuring cost effective methods are utilized.
- Appraise new technologies on an ongoing basis to enable learning and development strategies.
- Oversee external vendor relationships and work with external content experts to create customized learning solutions.
- Works across the organization to identify areas where common training solutions can be leveraged company wide.
- Trains, coaches, and empowers managers and supervisors to effectively support their teams' development efforts.
- Develops and maintains organizational communications such (e.g., bulletin boards, newsletters, electronic vehicles) to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
- Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience designing and implementing employee development programs.
- Bachelor's Degree: business, human resources, or related field
- Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or ATD credential required
- SPHR/PHR certification, preferred
- Logistics, distribution center or manufacturing experience preferred
- Knowledge in designing, developing, and delivering impactful learning and development programs.
- Prior experience with implementing, managing, and maximizing an LMS platform.
- Knowledge of project management tools and techniques.
- Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
- Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
- Verbal and written communication presentation skills.
- Excellent platform and presentation skills.
- Prior experience implementing train-the-trainer initiatives.
- Ability to listen constructively for ideas, problem resolution and customer satisfaction.
- Problem solving and negotiation skills.
- Ability to identify and manage vendors effectively.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels.
- Ability to interact with and influence key stakeholders.
- Ability to travel.
- Spanish language fluency, writing and speaking, is preferable.
