About the Role:

The Learning & Performance Associate is a crucial member of the People Operations Team. Reporting to the Associate Director, Learning & Performance, this role will be responsible for support and day-to-day operations execution of the Learning and Performance roadmap, as well as managing operations for the execution of learning programs, engagement surveys, and performance programs. This role is an integral member of the People Team, and the role will have a strong focus on Operations & Communications.

Responsibilities:

Training Operations:

  • Weekly Programming: Execute weekly learning programming logistics at BrainPOP, coordinating with trainers, speakers, and other BrainPOPers to execute hybrid learning. 
  • Company-wide Events: Execute program and learning operations during company-wide events (Day of Service, Winter Summit).
  • Departmental Learning: Coordinate L&D logistics for team onsites and virtual learning programming. 
  • Individual Learning: Operationalize L&D stipend program by facilitating request/approval process and curating and managing a data-base of PD opportunities for BrainPOPers.
  • Onboarding: Work with manager to operationalize and improve onboarding programming for new  and promoted BrainPOPers.

Systems Management & Operations

  • Performance & Feedback System: Own the technical building of culture surveys, performance review cycles, and feedback programs in Culture Amp. Creating dashboard and metrics post-review cycles and
  • Learning Management System (LMS): Manage day to day usage of Lessonly, BrainPOPs internal learning system, oversee clean up of content, support departments on usage.
  • People Team Intranet: Oversee People team internal wiki site(s) through the Confluence platform

Internal Communications

  • Internal Communications: Manage & streamline internal communications, calendars, and internal wikis for review cycles, learning programming, people systems, and company events.
  • Recognition: Manage and improve employee recognition platforms (such as BrainPOP Lunch of the Month programming; Town Hall, slack channels).

Additional responsibilities.

  • In-person events: Alongside fellow people- team members, provide support for NY Office events or company meetings when there are high volume support or coverage needs.
  • As requested: Additional projects based on business priorities and your growth and development plan

You Are:

  • An avid communicator with superior written and oral communication skills; comfortable presenting to audiences
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to balance competing priorities and deadlines
  • Self-starter and innovative thinker who owns projects from ideation to execution.
  • Proactive problem solver who thrives in translating ambiguous and complex problems into creative, streamlined solutions.
  • Someone who is “relationship-first” and looks to build strong working relationships across departments.
  • Tech savvy with ability to embrace and learn new systems quickly.

On your resume:

  • 2-3 years of experience in operations, communications, or learning and development.
  • Experience with Lessonly, Confluence, or similar learning enablement platforms is preferred.
  • Experience and savvy using Google & Microsoft Suites (Docs, Sheets, Slides etc…)

Location:

We are seeking a candidate can commute to the NYC office at least twice a week and resides in the following approved hiring states:

  • Connecticut
  • New Jersey
  • New York

BrainPOP believes in a hybrid work environment, but every role will have an in-person component. Employees are expected to come into our New York headquarters for in-person meetings as required, which may vary from one to several days a week, depending on the business needs. Employees may also work remotely on the days they are not required to be in the office.

The starting salary for this role is between $52,000-$65,000, depending on skills and experience. We take a geo-neutral approach to compensation within the US, meaning that we pay based on job function and level, not location. We have competitive pay bands for all other countries based on market standards. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skill set, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect most of the candidates offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors. We recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description, as posted. If so, the updated salary range will be communicated to you as a candidate.
