Learning & Development Specialist
Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
A rapidly growing, entrepreneurial technology company, Alarm.com, seeks a Learning & Development Specialist to join their Learning & Development (L&D) team. The L&D team is responsible for delivering training and programs to all Alarm.com employees. The ideal candidate has experience with training design and facilitation, is enthusiastic and a clear communicator, enjoys building business relationships, is energized by developing people, and excels in an ever-changing environment.Â
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage Alarm.com's orientation program (Bootcamp) for all new employees. Includes facilitating, managing, updating, and creating all aspects of the program
- Lead and manage Alarm.com's early career programs. Includes designing and delivering content, program management, and data collection
- Partner with L&D, internal stakeholders, and subject matter experts to help identify and establish ongoing training needs, perform needs assessments, make recommendations, and provide updates to training materials/programs
- Assist with designing and delivering internal training solutions in various formats (e.g., classroom, virtual, self-guided eLearning, blended). Topics may include communication skills, professional development, and team building
- Promote and facilitate the learning and engagement of Alarm.com's values and culture
- Track and report on training outcomes
- Create and update courses in Workday Learning
- Provide feedback to participants of the various programs, and management
- Manage/coordinate logistics for training activities, including venues, materials, and equipment
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of experience in:
- Presentation/facilitation, both in-person (classroom) and virtual
- Instructional design
- Project management
- Familiarity with adult learning principles
- Knowledge of training methodologies and competency assessment
- Works effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Flexible and able to adapt quickly to change
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Ability to manage multiple projects and programs concurrently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to establish meaningful business relationships
- Familiarity with working with multiple cross-functional partners
- Experience with Articulate (eLearning development tool) a plus
- Workday Learning experience a plus
