Job Description

We are seeking an innovative and experienced Learning and Development Specialist to join our Human Resources (HR) team. You should have a passion to develop talent, build an inclusive learning culture, as well as a strong passion and experience in D&I Initiatives. You will partner with personnel across the company to support our strategy for leadership and employee development to increase engagement across the organization.
Are you up to the challenge?
  • Proactively liaise with leaders, HR Business Partners, and subject matter experts to align training efforts to company and departmental short- and long-term goals, as well as individual development plans
  • Lead in planning and executing D&I programs, events and initiatives, including partnering with Intelsat's D&I Council, ERGs, HR Business Partners , etc., on the implementation of our strategic plan for diversity & inclusion
  • Will serve as a lead in identification and relationship management of external vendors providing services in support of enterprise-wide training and D&I initiatives
  • Assist with the design, development, and delivery of in-person and virtual companywide training programs to include formal Mentoring program, Cohorts, quarterly webinars, etc., across multiple times zones
  • Curate eLearning content and create learning plans for Intelsat's Global University that align to initiatives throughout the business to include development plans, roles and responsibilities, programming, etc.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of learning plans, programs and event success to increase employee engagement and performance, leveraging survey and data analytics by partnering with L&D colleagues
  • Advanced public speaking skills with a strong background in:
    • Classroom and virtual facilitation.
    • Leading and designing team builders to increase collaboration.

Can you drive these processes?
  • Develop overall training and learning curriculum, action plans, pre and post training activities, support materials and evaluations for D&I, as well as multiple lines of business
  • Champion D&I internally and externally by approaching programming with diversity, equity, belonging and inclusion across all elements and experiences
  • Perform needs analysis to identify development opportunities and training needs in collaboration with key stakeholders, including Intelsat Leadership, L&D Team and HR Business Partners, for current and future business needs
  • Assist with the design, implementation and maintenance of Intelsat's learning and development and D&I content on internal intranet site and LMS: focusing on supplemental learning resources, toolkit creation, one to many resources, etc.

You should have:
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in:
    • Adult learning principles;
    • Project management;
    • Curriculum design and eLearning design techniques;
    • Classroom and virtual facilitation.
  • Prior experience in DEI initiatives, programming, or councils
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Organizational Development or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Effective oral and written communications skills - ability to communicate "up and down" Intelsat
  • The ability to work in a multinational multi-cultural environment

It would be nice if you had:
  • Experience with eLearning development tools (Articulate, Camtasia, Captivate, etc.)
  • Change management experience in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Master's degree in Human Resources or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Certification(s) in StrengthsFinder, MBTI, or similar assessment tools
