Job Description

The Human Capital Management (HCM) Operations team at Hearst is responsible for the HCM ecosystem across thousands of employees and 300+ business on a global scale. This is the team that is responsible for the applications and products that service our employees and empower our managers and leaders. Whether supporting day-to-day operations or implementing exciting new products and modules, this team touches all aspects of the employee lifecycle.

Reporting into the Vice President, Infrastructure and HCM Operations, and partnering closely with the Enterprise Owner for the LMS, the LMS and Training Product Owner is responsible for ownership of the LMS module, known at Hearst as HearstEDGE (Employee Development, Growth and Education). The LMS and Training Product Owner is responsible for demonstrating functional expertise in the LMS including support of the existing users on the platform as well as expanding the product use by implementing new functions and features, as well as coordinating with Oracle on the future state roadmap. In addition, the product owner will support training development across all of the HCM Ecosystem products (for example Core HR, Oracle Recruiting Cloud, and Compensation). This includes determining the appropriate method of delivery and developing content for new modules or features to be delivered via the HearstEDGE application.

At least two years of LMS implementation experience is required in either Oracle Cloud/Oracle on-premises or other LMS solution. Oracle Cloud certification is a plus.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Functioning as the day-to-day operational owner of the product to support tasks and activities for the success of the HearstEDGE application.
  • Analyzing issues to determine themes, identify root cause issues, and recommend solutions.
  • Coordinating the team to prioritize and resolve HearstEDGE end-user issues.
  • Managing and supervising the LMS Junior Product Owner. Hands on setup for annual Hearst compliance training campaigns including but not limited to:
  • Developing campaign checklists
  • Meeting with campaign owners for content development and review
  • Testing compliance trainings
  • Coordinating user setup and weekly reporting on campaign progress
  • Supporting users for any campaign issues
  • Coordinating with HearstEDGE end-users and Business Unit administrators on the following:
  • Adhering to standards of use guidelines regarding use of HearstEDGE
  • Managing communication of upcoming application changes
  • Preparing end users for application updates or key issue by delivery topics in the bi-weekly "office hours" forum.
  • Developing agenda and hosting internal HearstEDGE user group
  • Performing quarterly reviews with the application and actioning areas of improvement.
  • Reviewing Oracle product development updates regularly and advising HCM and the Enterprise Owner regarding the same.
  • Coordinating with development to define and test automation to improve efficiencies.
  • Logging and coordinating with Oracle for issue resolution of priority Oracle Service Requests.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • At least two years of implementation experience in LMS is required, Oracle Cloud experience or certification is a plus.
  • Experience with learning management systems and education technology applications.
  • Strong ability to work effectively in a fast-paced agile environment and manage multiple projects/activities simultaneously.

In accordance with applicable law, Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in New York City. The reasonable estimate, if hired in New York City, is $130,000-$150,000. Please note this information is specific to those hired in New York City. If this role is open to candidates outside of New York City, the salary range would be aligned to that specific location. A final decision on the successful candidate's starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education.
