Job Description
Position Summary
At Brookfield Properties Multifamily, the Learning and Development team is front in center of the employee experience and embedded directly within operations. We challenge learners' understanding through relevant activities, author measurable learning objectives, and develop materials that promote transfer, retention and application. We work under tight deadlines with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where quality, creativity and accountability are tradition. The department is growing rapidly and needs a strong versatile Learning Specialist to support our growing needs. We are looking for a seasoned learning professional that is a self-starter and passionate in contributing to a role that will focus on the primary learning centers of excellence within LMS Administration, content development and facilitation.
Essential Job Functions
1. LMS Administration and Learning Team Support (50%)• Support the learning department as an LMS subject matter expert.• Train leaders and end users to effectively use the LMS to impact learner experience and business goals.• Regularly communicate updates and data with new team members, leaders, and peers.• Coordinate training activities and tracking across the enterprise, including any related follow up.• Actively enable the organization to understand training effectiveness through the LMS tool and reports.• Own learning reporting strategy. Run completion reports, audits and basic analysis of reports.• Support broader department initiatives with administration, communication, and execution.• Communicate effectively with learning delivery team, peers, leaders, and other stakeholders• Maintains centralized department communications and digital workspaces such as department emails, shared drives, and team sites.• Utilize and update project management system• General administrative team task such as bill paying, managing learning mailbox and vendor relationships.• Coordinate and maintain master training calendar.
2. Content Development (25%)
• Use an array of different media to produce training materials that promote learning through self-study, practice, performance support, socialization, and knowledge-sharing.• Experience creating well crafted, organized, and professional presentations with a preference towards training content.• Work with a variety of stakeholders, source documents and vendors to create instructionally sound learning interventions.• Demonstrated ability to communicate difficult concepts and processes using clear and simple language and visuals.• History of sparking improvements in learning strategy and content through collaboration and prototyping.• Develop assessments to measure learner acceptance, comprehension, and application of processes and systems knowledge.• Support general organization strategy for the learning department.
3. Learning Facilitation (25%)
• Support broader learning enterprise initiatives with administration, communication, and facilitation.• Facilitates a variety of enterprise trainings leveraging multiple modalities including instructor led and virtual instructor led sessions. Examples may include: leadership, technical and performance management trainings.• Partner effectively with the learning delivery team, peers, leaders and other stakeholders.• Performs training administration duties including course scheduling, registration/tracking, preparation of training facilities and other tasks needed to make each course successful.• Conducts training follow up such as feedback surveys, reporting• Manages all classroom logistics, as necessary
Education
This position requires a(n) Bachelors in English, Communication, Adult Learning, Instructional Design or Business Administration.
Work Experience
Below is the required/preferred work experience for this position:
1 - 3 years: Experience managing LMS activities - Required
3 - 5 years: Accustomed to working in a general office environment - Required
2 - 4 years: Public speaking, experience with facilitation of small to mid-size audiences - Preferred
Instructional Design: Familiar with design tools such as Adobe Indesign, Captivate, Articulate, Camtasia or Vyond - Preferred
Note: 3-5 years of experience can offset minimum educational requirements for this position.
