What you'll do:
This hybrid role requires extensive learning management system (LMS) experience, instructional design experience and education, and adult learning theory previous experience, education and knowledge. Responsible for maintaining and ensuring effective management of the LMS, including testing and posting new content, troubleshooting administrative and user technical issues, ensuring accurate user enrollment, assignments and assessment scoring, documenting processes, and developing reports and queries for a variety of internal and external constituents. Additional job responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and reporting on annual training compliance and other initiatives providing periodic updates to each operation to ensure completion are required.
- Partners with business partners, training & development team, and subject matter experts to create, implement, deliver, maintain, and measure learning/performance for all programs.
- Autonomously develops impactful learning materials/online training/content and will also find innovative ways to measure the effectiveness of training materials they produce.
- Partners with department managers, instructors, trainers and subject matter experts to create eLearning modules and training materials.
- Researches best practices and using creativity, imagination, and emerging instructional technologies to bring fresh ideas to the team to design, develop and deliver training.
- Collaborates with People Operations and Information Technology teams to identify system improvements and enhancements; recommends and implements solutions.
- Manages permissions, access, personalization, and similar system operations and settings for LMS users.
- Creates engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances knowledge retention and transfer.
- Visualizes instructional graphics, the user interface, and the finished product.
- Conducts instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts.
- Applies tested instructional design theories, practice, and methods.
- Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process.
What you’ll need to Succeed:
- 6+ years of experience in LMS administration and instructional design required. Thorough understanding of all areas of information systems with a highly technical understanding of at least one commercial LMS product.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related area with 5+ years of related experience with LMS administration and instructional design required.
- Excellent skills in visual design for presentations, operating Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and utilizing audio/visual equipment for optimal delivery and facilitation of initiatives.
- Familiarity with human resource policies and procedures to ensure the LMS meets organizational needs and goals.
- Lesson and curriculum planning skills.
- Knowledge of instructional theory, including assessment and instructional design models.
- Experience with course design platforms, such as InDesign, Captivate, Storyline, or Rise.
- Effectively convey technical information to non-technical colleagues and clients.
- Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts.
