Salary - $66.5K - 73K to start - Depending on experience.

Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for phone, emails, and mail communications with employees regarding all leaves of absence questions/requests and related processes.

  • Interprets and administers leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable state and federal employment laws.

  • Prepares, sends, and tracks all Leave of Absence paperwork required in compliance with state and federal deadlines.

  • Manages HRIS leave functions and processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting of data in our HRIS System (Workday).

  • Processes LOA status through HRIS system by working closely with the organization's payroll department.

  • Manages invoicing processes for all benefit related reimbursements for employees on leave.

  • Responsible for completing applicable state disability and/or paid family leave claims received, conducting system audits of all LOA processes, forms, signatures and approvals.Β 

  • Stays up to date and compliant with all state leave laws, FMLA, CFRA, ADAAA, HIPAA, WC, and regulatory federal and state laws regarding leave of absence.Β 

  • Regularly attends industry seminars and training classes to stay current with changes and best practices.

  • Develops standard operating procedures to support workflow and streamline processes by utilizing best practices for all leave of absence administration.

  • Responsible for drafts and/or revisions to company leave policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.Β 

  • Maintains the privacy and confidentiality of all protected health information in accordance with established policies, procedures and practices, and in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.

  • Manages all leave of absence administration projects and duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:Β 

  • Experience in leave of absence administration or related HR field.

  • Strong knowledge of state and federal leave laws, worker’s compensation laws and how they impact employee leave of absences.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • High level of organizational and time management abilities.

  • Ability to identify basic problems and procedural irregularities, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential information.

  • Strong communication skills, and ability to make recommendations to management.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience in Leave of Absence administration.
