CNA is invested in supporting the health and wellbeing of our employees and is currently looking for a Leave Specialist to join our team. The Leave Specialist will partner closely with the current Leave Specialist and team manager to administer leave and accommodation requests. JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • With supervision, identify leave types, approve or deny requests based on qualification, calculate and monitor leave duration, and coordinate return to work with employees.
  • Interpret and administer CNA leave programs and policies in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, PDA, etc.). Update CNA forms and related policies as required by changes in the law.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to employees, management and HR professionals and help employees navigate CNA's leave and accommodation processes. Escalate matters as appropriate.
  • Effectively manage cases in CNA's leave of absence system (Leave Link), accommodation system (ADA Link), and HR management system (Workday).
  • Timely update management on employee leave status and partner closely with Employee Relations Consultants, HR Business Partners and management on accommodation requests.
  • Coordinate and organize all medical information and ensure that CNA privacy guidelines are closely monitored and effectively executed.Meet regularly to review the status of cases/claims and develop legally sound strategies for a mutually beneficial resolution.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of leave administration (STD, FMLA, PFL, LOA, LTD, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state leave laws, regulations, policies and compliance requirements
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Computer aptitude, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple issues and case files
  • Ability to assess and resolve confidential and sensitive information and issues
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement, and when appropriate, identify and escalate critical or high risk issues
  • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with employees, managers and HR professionals at all levels
  • Leave and accommodation legal knowledge preferred
  • Experience with Leave Link and ADA Link preferred

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Two or more years related work experience.
