Summary

This position is located in the Anchorage Hearing Office at 188 W. Northern Lights Blvd. Ste 610, Anchorage, AK 99503.
NOTE: This position is being filled on a full-time, permanent basis. One or more positions may be filled under this announcement.
Additional selections may be made within 6 months of the closing date of this announcement.
This position is at the full performance level of the GS-8 grade level.

- Fingerprinting and background and/or security investigation required
- Job offers are contingent on fingerprinting and background / security investigation results
- Selectees are required to serve a 1-year probationary period
- Relocation expenses will not be paid
- Selectees may be required to complete off-site training
- All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement
Qualifications
If you are using experience to qualify, you must have:
GS-8: 52 weeks of full-time specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level in the federal service performing all or most of the following tasks: Reviewing and processing a variety of legal and/or medical documentation, records and evidence; Using a computer to prepare correspondence and has experience using word processing software (i.e., Word, Access, Excel) for data input, queries, reports or case tracking; As well as the ability to interpret, apply and explain complex legal provisions, regulations or procedural requirements to a wide range of individuals with varying abilities of comprehension; And a knowledge of legal documents or legal and judicial processes.
Note: Part-time work is prorated in crediting experience (e.g., if you work 20 hours per week for a 12-month period), you will be credited with 6 months of experience.
Education
GS-8: Substitution of education is not applicable at this grade level.
Additional information
This position is currently NOT virtual or eligible for outstationing. Selectee(s) will be required to report to the Anchorage Hearing Office location in Anchorage, AK.
This position may be eligible for telework in accordance with agency and office policy.
