Position Overview:
A Legal/Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that an organization's activities comply with laws, regulations, policies, and standards. They are a key part of an organization's governance, risk, and compliance strategy.Â
Requirements
Must Have Qualifications:
- Min. 5 years of experience in legal and compliance roles
- Min. 5 years of experience overseeing and monitoring audits of the US Dept. of Energy’s Weatherization Assistance Program
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in managing contracts and litigation matters
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Bachelor’s/master’s degree in law, business or related field
- Must speak and write English fluently
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments
Location: Remote in the U.S.A.
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced
Education: Bachelor’s degree or better in law, business, or related field.
Areas of Expertise: Corporate Legal Compliance, NFP Legal Compliance, Legal Research, Contract Review, Policy development, Utility Law, Climate Law
Compensation: $100K Annually
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract review of all ICAST programs & projectsÂ
- Researching legal requirements for new programs & markets.Â
- Manage the development and implementation of policies and help ICAST convert them into actionable procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations for our various Programs.
- Monitoring compliance by analyzing internal systems to ensure compliance, while monitoring business operations for infraction and corrective action.
- Be the interface to other departments to educate colleagues on legal and compliance requirements.
- Stay up to date on changes to laws and regulations that may impact the organization's operations.
- Manage the organization's contracts, intellectual property, and litigation matters
- Provide legal guidance to the executive team and other employees as needed
