Your Role

InMarket is growing rapidly and we need you to help with our commercial deals and related privacy matters. Our ideal candidate has spent quality, hands-on time working on commercial agreements in the digital advertising/ad tech space and is familiar with current U.S. privacy laws and regulations as well as industry standards and self-regulatory principles. You’re prepared to work closely with our sales and partnerships teams to negotiate, document, and close deals with our customers and partners. We work very well together to negotiate and close deals – this open role will help us meet increased sales demand with increased legal team bandwidth. Additionally, you will help us keep our data privacy obligations and advise the company as we continue to adapt to the evolving data privacy landscape. To succeed in this role, you must have or develop the skill of assessing and mitigating your client’s risks while helping to fortify relationships with customers and ecosystem partners.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate commercial deals and related agreements such as Insertion Orders, MSAs, vendor agreements, data sharing agreements, and DPAs.

  • Support our sales, partnerships, and strategy teams with responses to RFIs, RFPs, customer due diligence, and other customer communications on legal and privacy matters.

  • Help us to continuously improve our legal operations – updating templates, terms & conditions, legal processes and policies, and further implementing our CLM.

  • Tackle special projects in a variety of areas (including privacy, legal/regulatory compliance, litigation, intellectual property, information security, mergers & acquisitions, corporate). 

  • Stay up to date on legal developments related to data privacy and advertising tech. 

  • Assist with undertaking privacy initiatives throughout the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited school and active license to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction.

  • Significant experience with privacy laws and regulations in the US (including CCPA and other state and federal privacy laws). Bonus points for familiarity with the self-regulatory principles, standards, and codes of conduct of the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) and the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI). 

  • Solid understanding of contracting for digital media, ad tech products, the digital advertising ecosystems and commercial models, and SaaS (Software as a Service) agreements.

  • A thoughtful approach to negotiation and contracting.

  • 1-4 years of legal experience working in this space at a law firm or in-house with a digital media or advertising tech company.

For candidates in California, Colorado, and New York City, the Targeted Base Salary Range for this role is $125,000 to $165,500. 

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to work experience, specialized skills and training, performance in role, business needs, and job requirements. Base salary is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
