What role we’re hiring for:   

We are a growth stage fintech organization looking to add a Legal Counsel reporting directly to our CFO and Co-Founder!  

What you’ll be responsible for:  

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements and other complex legal documents and policies  
• Providing legal support and advice on relevant legal issues   
• Ensuring compliance with internal controls, statutory regulations, and other formalities
• Analyzing and addressing risks in business processes and decision making
• Executing procedures for protecting patents, trademarks, and industrial designs
• Keeping up with current changes in all relevant areas of laws and contributing to the enhancement of the knowledge base of the company’s legal function

What experience is needed to be successful in this role:  

•  5-7 years of progressive legal experience from a reputable law firm, preferably with experience working with the Technology/SaaS space
• In house experience is preferred but not required
• A Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited program and in good standing with the Texas Bar Association 
• An active bar license to practice law in the United State, preferably in the State of Texas 
• Experience communicating in a multi-stakeholder environment including the C suite
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures
• Self-starter; thrive under fast-paced fintech work environment
• High degree of professional ethics and integrity
• Sound judgement and ability to analyze situations and information
