Legal Counsel

Position Scope

SES is seeking a talented Legal Counsel to join our team. The successful candidate is committed and dedicated, responsible, focused, detail-oriented, able to adjust in a fast-paced working environment, collaborate well with other staff members with a shared vision and demonstrate excellent organizational communication skills. This position will be based in our South Korea location.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support to all departments in SES Korea (such as R&D, operations, finance, business development teams, etc.)
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements (such as joint development agreements, research agreements, lease agreements, supply agreements, procurement agreements, employment agreements, etc.), all in support of the Company’s business operations and growth
• Provide legal support for acquisitions, joint ventures and other strategic business transactions
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, statutory regulations and other formalities
• Handle all local contentious matters; work with external counsels to provide legal advice to senior management/executives
• Handle all legal and corporate secretarial matters and ensure proper documentation of all legal documents
• Support and liaise with the global legal team
• Manage legal budget

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years post qualified experience
• Called to the Korean Bar
• Proficient in English and Korean (verbal and written)
• Good organizational, prioritization and time-management skills with ability to juggle multiple priorities
• Strong analytical skills particularly on critical thinking, problem solving, reliable, rigorous, precise, organized, team player, solutions and business oriented
• Desire to work effectively in a fast-paced commercial environment
• Highest degree of professional ethics and personal integrity
• Good and effective communication skills as well as good inter-personal and inter-cultural awareness and interest to work in diverse teams
• Willingness to travel (including frequent travels to SES Chungju facility)
