The team you'll be part of is the Nokia Business Operations (NBO) Legal and Compliance (L&C) team for the North America Market (NAM). As NBO L&C NAM legal counsel, you will interface with all Nokia business groups and customer teams, and you will work closely with commercial contract managers to support business operations in the market.
What you will learn and contribute to
As part of our team, you will:
• Work with business groups, customer teams, and other stakeholders to draft, negotiate, and interprets critical internal or external business issues, and develop innovative solutions that help to protect Nokia's interests, minimize risk, and sustain competitive advantage.
• Solve highly complex or novel problems based on sophisticated analytical thought and complex judgment.
• Work effectively with commercial contract management team, sales team, and business groups to effectively draft and negotiate commercial agreements in support of Nokia's business and to protect Nokia's interests.
• Act as a business partner to the assigned sales team(s).
• Provide contractual know-how throughout the organization, and support contract changes, renegotiations and extensions with customer where required.
Your skills and experience
You have:
Option 1 (for US): license in at least one state as a U.S. qualified attorney with at least 5 years of experience in commercial contract drafting and negotiations in telecommunications and/or technology industry. The Legal Counsel is responsible for legal strategies and policies, contracts, and related forms to support and ensure compliance with applicable laws. The Legal Counsel supports, guides and acts as Commercial Counsel to North America Customer Teams.
Option 2 (for Canada): license as a Canadian-qualified attorney with at least 5 years of experience in commercial contract drafting and negotiations in telecommunications and/or technology industry. The Legal Counsel is responsible for legal strategies and policies, contracts, and related forms to support and ensure compliance with applicable laws. The Legal Counsel supports, guides and acts as Commercial Counsel to North America Customer Teams.
It would be nice if you also had:
Option 1 (for US): experience with telecommunication regulations, U.S. government contracting experience, familiarity and experience with Canada laws and commercial negotiations in Canada, and fluency in French.
Option 2 (for Canada): experience with telecommunication regulations, familiarity and experience with U.S. laws and commercial negotiations in the U.S., and fluency in French.
