Legal Director - GTM & Partner Programs
Job Description

Databricks is looking for an experienced attorney to join Databricks' GTM Programs legal team. As Legal Director you will serve an important role, working cross-functionally to help build the programs, terms and processes for how Databricks partners, and how we streamline our revenue-generating contracting motions. The role also includes high-visibility opportunities to negotiate and support the growth of strategic partnerships with some of the world’s largest global consulting and integration organizations. You will report to the Vice President & Associate General Counsel, Head of Legal for Business Development, GTM Programs and Channel.Â
The impact you will have
- Develop and launch new programs (sales, solution offerings, partners), and evolve our GTM contracting, by teaming with internal Legal leads and cross-functional business partners and client groups
- Provide forward-thinking guidance to business partners and client groups, to help anticipate challenges and opportunities in a hyper-growth environment
- Ensure that GTM terms and processes support partnering and transacting at scale, rapid revenue growth and long-term stability of the Company
- Lead in negotiations with strategic partners, major engagements and negotiations, balancing expansive growth of our alliance network with long-term risk
- Become a subject matter expert to your internal partners, client groups and colleagues
What we look for
- JD required; you have 10+ years of relevant legal experience, including at least five years in-house (preferably at a high-growth technology company).
- Substantial experience working with internal partners on ongoing projects, familiarity with quote to cash principles and models, experience with automating volume processes for efficiency. Proficiency with data analysis would be a plus.
- Deep experience with channel and partnering models and issues. It would be beneficial but not a requirement if you are familiar with Cloud Marketplaces.
- You are a critical thinker with a comfort in speaking up and brainstorming productively, thinking of future needs/issues around the corner. You apply a collaborative, positive approach to working with legal colleagues and partners. You have a can-do, hands-on attitude in executing, while providing strategic advice and working cross-geo and cross-group.
- You are comfortable with a level of ambiguity in making recommendations and you apply a practical, balanced mindset to legal problem solving.
- You have a programmatic mind-set, a facility with managing multi-faceted projects, and an understanding of how to develop and simplify processes.Â
