Position Summary:

Working under general supervision, the Legal Operations Associate will assist in gathering information and maintaining existing dashboards that help legal operations and corporate services teams develop and execute their legal services strategies.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining, monitoring, assessing the effectiveness of and assist in developing improvements to systems and tools used to analyze legal services delivery and operations
  • Assist in triaging, directing and/or delivering legal services throughout the organization using established procedures and matter tracking tools
  • Maintain existing data dashboards developed in Smartsheet and similar tools
  • Coordinate and assist in conducting analysis of business-critical proposal support functions provided by the Legal Operations team
  • Participate in the review and negotiation of agreements critical to supporting Mathematica's proposal teams
  • Assist in communication of legal services and processes with staff throughout Mathematica to build trust and leverage teamwork
  • Participate in special legal operations projects and organizational initiatives
  • Actively support the advancement of organizational diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, and apply diversity, equity and inclusion lens across job responsibilities

  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed

Position Requirements:

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as public policy, business, management, operations, economics, political science, public health, social science, or another relevant field
  • 0-2 years of experience
  • Good project management skills including the ability to articulate and assess processes, collect and analyze data to develop useful information relevant to each process.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Microsoft Project, including demonstrated proficiency with Excel and/or Smartsheet and the use of basic Excel formulas
  • Accuracy with work, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with others.
  • Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Flexibility to handle multiple priorities, sometimes simultaneously, under deadline pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to analyze legal services delivery processes for opportunities for improvements and efficiency gains.
  • Ability to gather and synthesize information from other Mathematica's functions that will help improve legal operations and legal services delivery.
  • Ability to scan assess legal operations industry technology and tools and make recommendations for improvements to Mathematica's legal operations and services delivery.

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of $50,000 - $60,000. This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance.
