  • This is an exciting time to join Remote and make a personal difference in the global employment space as a Legal Operations Associate - knowledge management joining our Legal Team.
  • We are looking for a talented and eager individual to focus on operations of the legal department to help deliver our team’s mission of supercharging our business through the provision of excellent legal advice and implementation of solid legal processes.
  • As Remote is increasing its global footprint, every expansion to a new country brings a wide range of legal issues.
  • The Legal team is responsible for the legal soundness of our business model, advice around set up of new entities, and contract templates, along with contract negotiation and redlining, data protection and employment law compliance. Alongside this, we partner with all our internal stakeholders with special emphasis on our Operations and Products team on new products and services and advising on a wide range of legal matters.
  • Because Remote is growing rapidly, we need to develop the legal department and this will provide you with the opportunity to develop alongside the legal department in the direction of your choosing. We want to empower you to Own (one of our five core values) your projects and tasks as you become a key member of the Legal Team.
What you bring
  • Knowledge management or similar experience working in a legal environment essential
  • Has worked previously in a Legal Editor position or equivalent at an industry leading research tools company essential
  • English + Proficient at least one other language a plus
  • Legal Ops or/and Law background a plus but not essential
  • Strong legal research skills with experience using Westlaw, Practical Law, Lexology and other legal research tools
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, organize, and express complex legal material quickly and accurately
  • Interest in Legal Tech and Legal Automation
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills and reading comprehension
  • Dependable team player with high energy, creativity and vision who works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to switch between multiple different projects and work under pressure
  • Ability to learn and master Remote's communication application (Slack), contract management system (Juro/internal platform/CLM), documentation sources (Notion, Google Drive, etc.), and assignment management systems (KissFlow/Zendesk/Zip/Coupa).
  • Comfort with Excel/Sheets and generating simple statistics such as average task times, work distribution percentages, etc.

  • You'll report to: Head of Legal Ops / Paralegal Manager
  • Team: Legal - Legal Operations
