Legal Operations supports the Legal Services organization in project management, technology, vendor relationships, risk management, business intelligence, training/development, and other operational functions.

As a Legal Operations Manager, you will collaborate with legal teams to enhance departmental effectiveness and assist with carrying out the organization's Objectives and Key Results. This position requires the ability to pivot, think proactively, coordinate and liaise with a diverse array of audiences using sound judgment, and passion for fostering a culture of service and continuous improvement.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide day-to-day operational support to the Legal Services organization, such as assistance with matter and document management, access questions, and trouble tickets.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop playbooks, generate reports, and implement data-driven strategies to control costs, forecast resource and budget needs, and monitor internal and external resource performance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely outside counsel and vendor invoice processing and accruals reporting.
  • Manage and help execute on projects that aid the department in achieving its strategic goals.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends and innovations in legal operations, sharing expertise and insights with the team to drive continuous improvement.
  • Train department members on legal applications and help host informational office hours.
  • Other requirements as determined by business needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelors degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of three to five years legal operations experience within a legal servies organization.
  • Self-starter with experience working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and general technical savviness.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Innovative and critical thinker who enjoys problem solving.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience successfully implementing new legal technology and processes.
  • Flexible and proactive.
  • Ability to coordinate and liaise with a diverse array of audiences using sound judgment skills.
  • Passionate about transforming business operations and creating a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and command of grammar and vocabulary, a professional demeanor appropriate for senior-level interactions, dedication and responsiveness.
  • Ability to plan ahead, work independently, prioritize competing demands, and accurately complete multiple projects under strict deadlines and in high pressure situations.
  • A growth mindset, including an eagerness to learn and take on additional responsibilities.
