Legal Operations Specialist

The Legal team is responsible for managing the legal affairs of the company, including providing legal counsel across the organization, handling disputes, and creating and enforcing intellectual property.

Job summary:

"Legal operations" describes a set of business processes, activities, and the professionals who enable legal departments to serve their clients more effectively by applying business and technical

practices to the delivery of legal services. Legal operations provide the strategic planning, financial management, project management, and technology expertise that enables legal professionals to

provide better legal advice. The Legal Operations Specialist, Business Systems Analyst is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining processes and system solutions, while

providing the administrative support that enables increasingly effective practices for legal professionals

Let's talk about responsibilities:

• Build relationships with legal and non-legal business partners
• Provide expert advice and guidance for process and system development
• Define and drive strategic operational initiatives in line with roadmaps
• Influence the development of more effective practices for the legal team and their clients
• Influence the design, development and documentation of processes that increase effectiveness
• Configure systems and provide system administration for increasing utility, effectiveness and control
• Provide product ownership for selected technologies
• Provide System testing, including co-ordination of User Acceptance Testing
• Provide Targeted user groups (internal and external) with process and system training
• Provide reporting and business analysis, for monitoring, compliance and performance
• Provide administrative duties for a range of legal operations administrative obligations
• Provide basic technical and non-technical support for end users

Let's talk about qualifications and experience:

• Successful development and implementation of systems that are applied in a setting of legal service provision
• Deep knowledge (acquired in a setting of legal service provision), including process and system development knowledge that is capable of influencing people, process and system developments, resulting in improved practices for legal teams and their business clients.
• Established project Management capabilities, including effective prioritization and cross
• functional co-ordination
• Successful track record of training accomplishments
• Able to advise on broad system architecture considerations, relating to legal processes and their interaction
• with systems applied in a legal service provision setting
• Able to understand and advise on system interoperability considerations, including system integrations

Preferred qualifications:

• Advanced MS Office skills
• Understanding financial management considerations in a legal operations setting
• Experience with Agile software development processes
• Experience iManage, Apttus Contract Management or Xakia
• Experience with process management, including identifying, writing, and prioritizing requirements, managing implementation timelines and successful user adoption
• Detail and process oriented, able to pivot quickly and reprioritize as required
