Description
We are looking to hire a Director of Legal & Risk to help grow the company. The Director of Legal & Risk will help oversee Iterative Health's legal, data privacy and compliance functions and be responsible for ensuring that the company is managing risk appropriately.
The Director of Legal & Risk will work closely with leaders across Iterative Health to help define and monitor the company's contracting, legal, data privacy and compliance issues. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in managing a team of three and learning and managing all aspects of risk management within a growing medical technology company with access to PHI and an FDA cleared medical device.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage the company's legal process and needs
- Ensure adherence to the latest data privacy guidelines (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.) and oversee the broader data usage strategy
- Developing and overseeing the company's compliance program.
Requirements & Qualifications
Skills & Requirements:
- JD
- 5 years or more experience dealing with legal contracts and / or managing risk at other companies
- Ability to work independently, attention to detail and organization skills
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Interested in getting into the weeds and setting up the processes to optimize and enhance current contract, data privacy and compliance procedures
- Willing to learn and become familiar with specific areas of data and compliance regulations relevant to the company
- Able to triage issues and solve problems independently before escalating upwards
- Ambition to take on additional projects and grow responsibilities / ownership over time
- Ability to appropriately use outside legal counsel in a cost-effective manner
- Interest in mentoring and training a team with diverse skillsets
- Track record of leading/managing multiple concurrent projects (with different deadlines) in a highly cross-functional environment
- Excellent interpersonal skill, able to clearly and consistently communicate with senior leaders of the company
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- Experience working in a well-known global law firm
- Experience with data usage and data privacy
- Experience with company compliance including but not limited to anti-kick back and sunshine act reporting
- Experience with managing a team and making operational decisions
