The Legal team is responsible for all of HP's legal matters, including government relations, brand security, intellectual property, ethics and compliance, and legal counsel representation in every region. This role is aligned to HP's Legal Strategy and Operations Team and reports to the COS, VP of Strategy & Operations. The role will support several strategic programs sponsored by Legal's Leadership team. This role will work directly with program managers to drive operational excellence for the key strategic programs for engagement, recognition, professional development and more including maintaining a range of supporting processes and identifying opportunities for improvement. Additionally, this role allows for a degree of independence and creativity through the creation of supporting program collateral, and web site communications content for which the entire Legal organization may be the audience. The Legal Programs Operations Manager may also be called upon to lead smaller projects on an as-needed basis.
Responsibilities:
- Manages a broad range of moderately complex operations that support legal programs in the areas of recognition, career development, connections with colleagues and process improvement efforts.
- Identifies opportunities for process improvement and develops recommendations.
- Creates collateral in the way of Power Point presentations, emails, and web site content to support various programs.
- Operationalizes communications such as coordinating meeting invites for the entire Legal team, or select audiences with the Legal team. This includes working with program managers to identify invitees, creating the invitation, sending invitations, tracking acceptance, and sending reminders.
- Creates simple SharePoint forms to support various surveys and volunteer opportunities.
- Creates and maintains Smartsheet's to manage tasks and timelines across the Legal program's portfolio.
- Applies fun, creative designs to program collateral, presentations, and communications.
Education and Experience Required
- First level university degree or equivalent experience.
- Typically, 5+ years of relevant experience, including experience in Staff Operations, Program
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.),
- Ability to create and maintain Smartsheet's, with willingness to learn more around workflows and Power Automate.
- Ability to create and maintain Microsoft Forms to support programs.
- Team player who is dynamic enough to change course when something needs to get done.
- Enthusiastic about people and people programs.
- Strong independent work ethic with ability to complete tasks without management oversight.
- Some project management skills to lead small projects as stretch assignments.
- Independently solves moderately complex problems.
- Proactively learns about new methods to improve our work through new tools, methods, or processes.
- Developed collaboration, relationship building, and communication skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work across all levels and functions within the organization.
- Enthusiastic collaborator and team member.
