Job Description

Position Summary: Responsible for all aspects of court mandated reporting, maintaining court calendar and performing various paralegal responsibilities and duties for the Community Guardian Program department.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Oversees process of new client procedures ensuring that all steps are handled promptly.
  • Oversees updating and maintenance of bond information, order and cancels bonds.
  • Coordinates and troubleshoots client discharge process.
  • Prepares or assigns preparation of initial, annual and final accounts. Coordinates and monitors work flow for annual accounts. Coordinates and monitors submission of testimonies for court attorneys.
  • Maintains court calendar for the department.
  • Monitors assignment of cases to attorneys. Notify responsible parties prior to court dates.
  • Obtains commissions and court certification of documents as needed.
  • Orders or obtains client death certificates. Prepares Notice of Death for Public Administrators.
  • Prepares legal briefs for new incoming cases for staff attorneys as needed.
  • Conducts courthouse filings, mail service and affidavit process servings.
  • Adhere to organization's standards by completing annual mandatory trainings in a timely manner on topics including - but not limited to - Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, IT Security Awareness, Compliance, OSHA, HIPAA and any other training the organization may deem necessary in regards to regulatory compliance or good business practices.
  • Supports organization's mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers.
  • Adheres to the organization's policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance

Salary Range: 39,000 - 42,000 per year commensurate with experience.

Job Competencies & Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 6 months to 1 year relevant experience
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Able to multi-task and work independently with a great attention to detail

Working Conditions/Physical Demand:

  • Business Office Environment with phone and computer use.
  • Ability to attend meetings and training outside of office environment.
  • Ability to travel to in the field.
