Current Need

McKesson's Law Department is seeking a Legal Specialist to support the Extended Care customer and Biomed segments as well as other areas of the McKesson Medical-Surgical business. The McKesson Brands segment comprises a large portion of McKesson Medical-Surgical's customers.

Primary responsibilities include reviewing, negotiating, and drafting customer agreements, amendments, and related documents, interacting with internal stakeholders on contract and operational issues, and various other initiatives and projects to support the contracting process.

Position Description
  • Draft and review customer agreements, including product supply agreements, rebate agreements, rental agreements, service agreements, technology agreements and other contracts related to the medical-surgical business.
  • Consult on legal provisions within contracts, including identifying potential legal and business issues. Work with attorneys, key business stakeholders, and operational experts to resolve such issues.
  • Actively participate in contract negotiations.
  • Provide guidance on contracting standards.
  • Identify risk, determine the level of risk, and develop contracting strategies to mitigate McKesson's exposure to this risk.
  • Monitor compliance with internal McKesson and legal processes and policies.
  • Recommend, develop, and implement contracting policies, procedures and processes.
  • Work with attorneys and other Legal Team members to review and update templates, including standard contract templates and amendment templates, as well as develop new templates.
  • Assist with administrative activities, including tracking contract status, filing, organization.


Minimum Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience as a paralegal focusing on transactional work, in-house experience preferred.
  • Experience with commercial contracting required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Apttus, Salesforce.com, Pramata and DocuSign is a plus, as is prior healthcare regulatory experience, particularly knowledge and experience related to the federal Anti-Kickback Status.
  • Prior project management experience is preferred but not required.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$74,300 - $123,800
