Legal Support Assistant

Ballard Spahr LLP has an exciting entry-level opportunity available in the Denver office for a Legal Support Assistant. The selected individual will provide administrative support to Legal Administrative Assistants and fee earners, while learning and using a variety of administrative skills.

The Legal Support Assistant will:

• assist with the preparation and editing of legal documents, as well as with accounting and billing matters

• file, index, and document production

• handle administrative functions, process expense reimbursement requests, and client services

The position requires a proactive self-starter who is able to work well both independently and within the Legal Support team, demonstrate flexibility in responding to daily workflow demands, and maintain confidentiality of client and firm matters. LSAs must also be able to maintain a high quality work product in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the firm's business and nature of the work, and be able to assume responsibility with minimal supervision, exercise initiative and judgment to make decisions within the scope of their assigned authority, and work collaboratively with all employees.

This position will primarily work onsite; there may be later opportunity for periodic remote work. The salary range is $48,000-$53,000 depending on experience.

Excellent technical, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills are essential to be successful in this position. Candidates should be comfortable working in a large professional environment and have working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly with Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Experience with law firm time and billing systems and with document management systems is a plus. A High school diploma or equivalent is required, college degree is a plus and prior law firm or professional services experience preferred.
