LEU+ OPEX & Automation Manager

Lead and facilitate manufacturing process mapping using Lean, Six Sigma, and other improvement methodologies to deliver operational efficiency and effectiveness for the new Columbia fuel fabrication facility for higher enriched uranium fuel.
Develop and implement operational excellence strategies and roadmaps in alignment with Program goals, ensuring integration with business processes and systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify potential manufacturing process bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for cost reduction, proposing innovative solutions to address these issues.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to be implemented during operation to track confirmation of key assumptions used during process development. Facilitate the adoption of best practices in process optimization across the Program, ensuring consistency and standardization where appropriate.
Facilitate risk management sessions to evaluate potential threats to the product flow and devise strategies to mitigate them ensuring uninterrupted and efficient operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and develop project scopes and requirements.
Monitor the performance of automation systems during commissioning and suggest adjustments to optimize productivity and reduce downtime.
The successful candidate for this position will possess the following:• Bachelor's degree in engineering, scientific or appropriate business field.• 10-15 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience implementing lean systems.• Toyota Production System or Lean certification preferred (i.e. Lean Expert certification)• In-depth knowledge of business process improvement principles such as Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, etc.• Demonstrated project management skills (PMI certification a plus)• Demonstrated success in Lean continuous improvement• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications.• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to all levels of the organization• Ability to lead cross functional teams • Ability to break down and simplify complex issues• Demonstrated history of driving improvements and measurable results in a production environment.• Effective in the change management process • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, large-scale, complex activities at one time• Ability to proactively identify, assess and mitigate risk in a dynamic, fast-paced environment• Effective and timely decision making often with limited information and/or time
