Level 2 Engineering Manager - Metallurgical

SMS group Inc., headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, seeks a Level 2 Engineering Manager - Metallurgical to work in Pittsburgh, PA, responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and servicing engineering solutions for modernizations and new installations of Level-2 Automation Systems (Supervisory Process Control) for Metallurgical Plants. Specific responsibilities will include: (i) leading/overseeing engineering solutions on technical and project-related matters; (ii) designing and overseeing the implementation of metallurgical process models and associated Level-2 automation system functions based on project requirements; (iii) collaborating with technical sales team in developing budgetary offers and full project proposals; (iv) managing and guiding software engineering activities including design, coding, testing, deployment and documentation; (v) deploying Level-2 system at customer site to meet expected system performance; (vi) training customer's personnel on the use and management of Level-2 systems; (vii) administering support for other internal engineering and service teams, digitalization teams and computer systems engineering personnel; and (viii) supervising compliance of professional and departmental employees as well as company best practices.

Must be able and willing to travel domestically to various unanticipated employer and client locations up to 15%.

Must possess, at a minimum, a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Management Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technologies & Business Informatics, or a directly related field plus 2 years of experience in software development and engineering for level 2 systems (process control) for steel making equipment.

Must know (from any completed university-level coursework, seminars, workshops, or real-world, hands-on experience): melting and casting processes and procedures; Agile software development methodology; C#/.NET Framework; C/C++ programming in Visual Studio environment; Entity Framework; WPF; and Web development stack (HTML and JavaScript).
