Job SummaryÂ
Kairos Power is seeking a highly motivated early career individuals with an interest in nuclear reactor licensing. This position would work in the licensing team on projects that support the development of KP-FHR licensing applications. This position would include preparation of licensing submittals, interaction with design and testing teams, and the development of automation tools in support of Kairos Power overall licensing strategies. Contributions from this work directly supports Kairos Power's mission to enable the worlds transition to clean energy.
ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Support licensing team by developing content for licensing applications supporting KP-FHR licensing
- Work with Kairos Power design and testing teams to collect information needed for KP-FHR licensing
- Work with licensing team to identify and interpret reactor regulations and regulatory guidance
- Develop white paper content for licensing strategies in support of licensing KP-FHR technology
- Supports licensing team in preparing for NRC interactions on licensing submittals
- Work on automation tools for licensing application content in a collaborative workflow environment
- Other duties as assigned
QualificationsÂ
- Current student pursuing Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related field
- Proven team player with excellent verbal, written communication/presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Self-starter, critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage competing priorities
- Ability to work well in an integrated collaborative team environment, including frequent interactions with cross-functional teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office application (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word) and other software systems
- Proficiency in use of R, CSS, HTML, and/or JavaScript preferred
- Experience with a project or classwork related to the nuclear industry preferredÂ
- Ability to work with highly collaborative team and proven team player working with various teams
- Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently
