Job Description
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Compliance Licensing Specialist will be responsible for various compliance duties such as managing accurate and timely records of rental property and business licenses of FirstKey Home rental properties. The Compliance Licensing Analyst must exhibit a high level of professionalism and confidentiality at all times, provide customer service to our internal and external customers, and focus on resident experience and compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Maintain records related to rental property and business licenses.
- Compile the rental property and business license information in tracking software. Ensure timely filing and for reporting purposes.
- Submit new and renewal rental registration or business license forms based on the requirements of the municipalities and counties for markets relevant to FirstKey Homes.
- Maintain the site information in our system for all rental registration requirements for each market relevant to FirstKey Homes.
- Assess required licensing requirements in markets during the acquisition of rental properties.
- Coordinate with state and local agencies to ensure timely and efficient license acquisition and renewal.
- Research new or amended rental registration requirements for all relevant rental markets.
- Communicate licensing trends with Executive Management.
- Create internal policies and procedures regarding operations for properly acquiring rental property and business licenses.
- Ensure compliance with organization policies and government regulations.
- Assist in researching compliance requirements for various laws and regulations to which the company is subject.
- Research areas of the compliance risk assessment and provide input into the continuous assessment process to help ensure the risk assessment is kept up to date.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Primarily working indoors, office environment.
- May sit for several hours at a time.
- Prolonged exposure to computer screens.
- Repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers, and copiers.
- May work non-standard hours to meet work requirements or established deadlines.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal and/or Paralegal Certificate or similar area
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- High proficiency with Adobe Acrobat
- Minimum 1 year compliance experience regarding regulatory matters in a corporate, financial, or legal environment
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience working in property management, real estate or similar industry
- Experience interpreting and complying with HOA covenants
- Experience working in a fast pace, high-growth company

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
- Law— Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, regulations, and agency rules.
- Clerical— Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
- Customer Service— Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
