Life Sciences Business Development Manager

Significant unmet needs persist for patients with chronic and complex conditions, across hematological, immunological, neurological, and rare diseases. Biopharma companies working to bring new options to market for patients are hampered with decreasing R&D productivity and inefficient evidence generation strategies that cost too much and take too long. Biopharma companies are increasingly turning to real-world evidence (RWE) to provide enterprise value across use cases along the drug development life cycle, while simultaneously driving increased time and cost efficiencies. However, gaps remain in evidence generation strategies due to the fragmented US healthcare system and resulting data silos. Â
PicnicHealth employs a patient-centric approach to generate the highest quality, longitudinal real-word data that cuts across data silos and extracts deep clinical information- fueling cutting edge research while giving patients control of their health record. These comprehensive, patient-centric, real-world datasets produce unique insights - across multiple therapeutic areas - not available from any other source. We do this by working directly with patients and leveraging state of the art machine learning techniques to transform their messy medical records into structured, accurate, and useful data. The OpportunityÂ
As the Life Sciences Business Development Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting our relationships and generating new business opportunities with potential partners. You’ll understand their research objectives and use cases, and support the development of winning commercial proposals and important meeting presentations. With mentorship from the Life Sciences Partnership team, you will grow to become a product expert and support our Life Sciences Partners in advancing their research priorities using data generated through the PicnicHealth Research Platform. You will have the opportunities to work across multiple accounts and gain broad exposure to different aspects of the relationship lifecycle with increasing responsibility over time. You’ll play a central role in a growing company with future career development opportunities that you will help shape.Â
To do this, you’ll need a baseline understanding of the Life Sciences industry, intellectual curiosity to learn about the applications of real-world data and evidence (RWD and RWE) in biopharma, and a proactive mindset to take initiative and move things forward. You’re excited about being cross functional, and doing whatever it takes to make things happen. You bring a collaborative, results driven and detail-oriented approach that helps our cross-functional team have greater impact with a growing number of partners. As the Life Science Business Development Manager, you will:
- Work with commercial leadership to help drive successful business development, partnership formation, and account expansions with new and existing Life Sciences customers, including:
- Representing PicnicHealth in day-to-day partnership and supporting the cultivation of relationships with project teams across our partnerships with biopharma;
- Supporting development of new business proposals and meeting materials and presentationsÂ
- Translating customer feedback and needs into scoping requirements with PicnicHealth’s patient recruiting, product, clinical informatics, engineering, and operations teams;
- Help define account-level strategies to maximize the adoption of PicnicHealth’s offerings
- Bring contracts to a successful close, with support from the broader Life Sciences Partnerships team and leadership team.   Â
- Inform strategic and continued growth of the the Life Sciences offering and go-to-market strategy;Â

Qualifications:
- B.A. or B.S. (preferred discipline in biological sciences, engineering, biostatistics, health economics or similar);
- 2+ years of experience with a successful track record in client-facing roles with biopharma companies, in organizations such as a life sciences oriented consulting firm, healthcare focused analytics and/or outcomes research firm.Â
- You get bonus points if you have any of the following experience:
- Working in a fast growing tech company;Â
- Working in biomedical informatics, EMR data, or working with RWE or HEOR functions; and/or
- Experience developing long term business relationships with large enterprises and experience owning client relationships
