* We're currently seeking a talented and experienced life sciences transaction professional that will play a vital role within Donaldson's Life Sciences Strategy & Business Development team, which is responsible for inorganic and organic growth in the life sciences market. As Corporate/Business Development Manager, this individual will be mainly responsible for external-facing activities to identify and execute M&A and other strategic partnership transactions in the life sciences filtration and broader life sciences tools market. This role includes supporting transaction negotiations, overseeing internal cross-functional due diligence efforts, and managing relationships with key external partners including investment bankers, lawyers, and consultants. This is a high visibility position within a high visibility LS Strategy & Business Development group in Donaldson.
Role Responsibilities
- Play a key role identifying, sourcing, evaluating, and pursuing M&A and other strategic partnership opportunities for new targets and technologies in the filtration and broader life science tools market
- Serve as key strategic partner across the organization, building internal relationships to support cross-functional engagement
- Extensive outreach to CEOs, Directors and Investors of target companies to build new relationships and grow the M&A pipeline
- Substantial interactions with investment bankers for in-bound opportunities
- Support deal execution and project management for M&A and other strategic transactions including lead due diligence processes for new opportunities by working cross-functionally within the organization, as well as manage relationships with key external parties (i.e., consultants, law firms, bankers)
- Assist in early integration efforts for newly acquired companies
- Support competitive intelligence efforts in Life Science's areas of interest by identifying key trends, new technologies, pipeline progress, attending relevant trade shows and investor conferences, and support internal communication of relevant developments in the field
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business, finance, or a related field
- 7+ years' experience life sciences corporate or business development, investment banking, and/or venture capital
- Significant experience executing life sciences M&A and other strategic transactions with a preference for life sciences tools experience (deal sheet required)
- Experience with financial modeling and synthesizing outputs for finance-based decisions
- Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and capable of high-level performance working across multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA and/or life sciences degree preferred
- Experience with filtration and/or other separation technologies in a life sciences context (e.g., academic research, drug R&D, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, collaborate cross-functionally, and manage problems/activities that are ambiguous and/or complex
- Excellent analytical skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills
