The Opportunity

The Life Sciences Principal is a player-coach, directly responsible for generating new business and growing existing customer relationships across the life sciences industry.  In this role, you’ll manage complex sales cycles and craft winning proposals that align PicnicHealth’s solutions to prospective customer research needs. You’ll represent PicnicHealth as a strategic observational study and real-world data (RWD) expert and support our partners in advancing their research priorities using data generated through the PicnicStudies approach. To do this, you’ll need a deep understanding of the Life Sciences industry, the needs of observational studies and the application of RWD in biopharma, and an ability to manage high-stakes client relationships by anticipating client needs before they do. 

As a Principal you will:

  • Spearhead new business development and customer growth across the life sciences industry.
  • Navigate complex sales cycles and craft compelling proposals, aligning PicnicHealth's  study solutions to client needs.
  • Serve as a trusted expert on RWD and observational studies, supporting partners in advancing research using PicnicHealth's data-driven approach.
  • Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing team of business developers, fostering collaboration and a culture of success.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of sales strategy, building executive relationships and driving key partnerships.

You’re a great fit if you have a:

  • 6+ years experience and a proven track record of success in selling RWD/RWE solutions to the biopharma industry.
  • Strong understanding of the life sciences industry and the application of RWD in biopharma research.
  • Experience developing long term business relationships with large enterprises and experience owning client relationships.
  • Exceptional communication and persuasion skills, influencing and engaging stakeholders across levels.
  • B.A. or B.S. (preferred discipline in biological sciences, engineering or similar);
  • Bonus points for:
    • Experience in a fast-paced tech environment.
    • Designing and executing observational studies, registries, or RWD analyses.
    • Hiring, coaching, and leading sales or consulting teams.

We’re a remote first company, with teammates spread across the US. Expect to travel 2-4 times a year.  For our team members in the Bay Area, who prefer to work in person we can offer a hybrid set up to work from the SF office on a flexible schedule.

Target Base Salary Range: $160k-$200k

The base salary PicnicHealth offers may vary depending upon the ultimate scope and responsibilities of the position and on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total package will include commissions and equity, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered. Pay and benefits are subject to change at any time, consistent with the terms of any applicable compensation or benefit plans.
