ROLE
As Lifecycle Marketing Lead, your role will be to define the strategy and vision for a robust CRM program and then build, deploy, measure and optimize it. To date, CRM/lifecycle marketing at Block has been very limited. You’ll be starting with a nearly blank slate and will have the opportunity to shape how this critical program develops. This is a good fit for a strategic thinker who is excited about building something from scratch and is willing to roll up their sleeves and execute too.
The goal of this program will be to nurture marketing leads through email and other means to get them into the sales funnel. Results and impact on the business will be very quantifiable, notably the number of monthly sales qualified leads driven by lifecycle marketing and the resulting impact to our blended customer acquisition cost.
You will report into the Head of Marketing and work closely with other members of the marketing team. Internal communication with cross-functional key stakeholders (Growth Marketing, Sales, Creative, Sales Ops, Product, Analytics, etc.) will be important.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop the vision for Block’s lifecycle marketing strategy and then operationalize it
- Own CRM list growth across email and potentially SMS
- Develop and drive audience segmentation, personalization and communication strategy
- Through customer insights, develop a plan to test and learn hypotheses to continuously optimize our lifecycle marketing effectiveness in generating sales qualified leads
- Build reports and dashboards to monitor CRM activity and impact. Establish KPIs.
- Work with Product, Designers/Project Ops and New Business Initiatives teams to amplify the launch of new features, materials or service offerings that may motivate prospects to start a renovation project with Block
- Partner with content marketing lead to amplify existing content and identify priority content to be developed based on prospect insights/needs
- Identifying new lifecycle marketing channels and tactics to test and developing a testing framework to evaluate success
- Forecast and plan business results for monthly/annual budget planning and execute against those goals
- Internal communication and collaboration with key stakeholders (Performance Marketing Lead, Partnerships, Sales, Creative, Sales Ops, Finance, Analytics, Product, Consumer Insights)
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5-6 years experience in customer relationship marketing / lifecycle management
- Deep knowledge of customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and journey mapping through email, SMS, push and in-app marketing
- Highly data-driven. Strong analytical approach to understanding customer behavior, understanding campaign performance, driving ongoing A/B testing and optimization, and assessing new opportunities
- Customer-centric mindset. Experience using customer data and insights to inform business strategy and day-to-day decision-making to improve the customer experience with the Block brand
- Enjoy working independently, as well as collaboratively, in a cross-functional team environment. Strong at building relationships across teams
- Experience developing effective creative briefs and providing constructive feedback on designs
- Self-starter comfortable with ambiguity. There is no CRM playbook at Block for you to start with - you need to develop it! We need someone who is hungry to crack this and will continue to make it better and better even when no one is asking
- Comfortable flexing between strategic thinking and tactical execution
- Well organized with strong project management skills and high attention to detail
- Experience in a startup environment
BONUS POINTS IF YOUR EXPERIENCE INCLUDES:
- Operating in a context where Marketing team generated leads that were handed off to a Sales team
- Marketing and selling high priced consumer products/solutions (in the tens of thousands of dollars range)
- Experience with HubSpot
