Lifecycle Marketing Manager
Job Description
Sprout Social is seeking a talented and collaborative lifecycle marketer to join our team. Our marketing team has helped us reach 30,000 customers worldwide, including DoorDash, General Mills, Trello, Make-a-wish Foundation, Edelman, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. These businesses rely on Sprout to create stronger relationships with their customers through social media.Â
This role will help establish Lifecycle Marketing as a revenue-driving concentration at Sprout. The Lifecycle Marketing Manager will sit on the Growth and Lifecycle Marketing team, uniquely situated at the intersection of the Marketing, Sales, and Product orgs. This role will execute communication programs that will increase customer engagement as well as expand revenue.Â
You’ll implement segmented customer journeys and bolster the impact of our customer communications. You contribute to innovative multichannel CRM programs with an iterative mindset, focusing on maximizing customer lifetime value and customer expansion. And you will work closely with Sales partners to enable sales pipeline and hit revenue goals.
We’re looking for a talented growth or lifecycle marketer who excels in working for a high-volume, multi-use case SaaS product. You’re adept at understanding key insights and high-value opportunity areas, supporting strategic planning from that data–and then driving execution. You are also comfortable launching marketing automation programs and energized by the iterating and analyzing results that follow, because you are passionate about supporting initiatives that drive tangible business impact.Â

Qualifications
These are the minimum qualifications that our hiring team is looking for in this role:
- 6+ years of experience in marketing, growth marketing, or marketing automation
- 3+ years of integrated marketing or lifecycle marketing experience
- Demonstrated success in executing lifecycle marketing programs
- Exceptional at managing, optimizing, and reporting on marketing performance
Additionally, these are the preferred qualifications that would indicate a particularly strong candidate:
- Skilled in conversion copywriting or persuasive writing
- Skilled in driving business growth through both lead generation and product-led motions
- Experience working in Marketo, Intercom, and/or Pendo
Within 1 Month, you will:
- Complete Sprout’s New Hire training program alongside other new Sprout team members and understand the value that Sprout delivers to our customers.
- Meet with members of the marketing team in 1:1s to understand what’s working, what’s not and gather learnings to implement into your role.
- Get to know your manager, peers, and partners across Revenue Marketing, Customer Marketing, Brand Creative, Product, Growth, Sales, and Customer Success to understand current working relationships.
- Develop a firm understanding of Sprout’s brand positioning, voice, and core messaging.
- Start participating in weekly stand-ups and team meetings.
Within 3 Months, you will:
- Familiarize yourself with the Marketing and Brand Creative processes and rituals (i.e., how we get work done), learn our Agile framework, and understand how to plan for work to get done effectively.
- Familiarize yourself with Sprout’s product strategy and development lifecycle, our release/launch process, marketing campaign framework, and more.
- Work with your director to understand the lifecycle strategy for customer growth and expansion.
Within 6 months, you will:
- Interact day-to-day with colleagues on the Lifecycle and Growth Marketing team,Â
- Begin developing relationships with product management, marketing, sales, and creative teams to gain purview and spot opportunities.
- Deliver work against the Lifecycle Marketing roadmap and inform prioritization of our backlog.
- Begin supporting, delivering, testing, and optimizing programs to support customer onboarding and engagement, as well as targeted campaigns, to capitalize on cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
- Begin to spear-head updates to the marketing website to improve user experience, lead capture, and conversion.
Within 12 months, you will:
- Be operating autonomously in the team, expanding, and developing our lifecycle marketing programs to drive greater impact.
- Be executing and delivering on the Lifecycle Marketing team roadmap.
- Be comfortable and proactive about sharing results with the rest of the Revenue Marketing, Customer Marketing, and Growth teams as an input to improving our expansion and growth strategy and programs.
- Be pulling and analyzing campaign results, regularly reporting on messaging performance across the customer journey.
- Surprise us! Use your unique ideas and abilities to change Sprout in beneficial ways that we haven’t considered yet.
Of course what is outlined above is the ideal timeline, but things may shift based on business needs and other projects and tasks could be added at the discretion of your manager.
