Our DMS software helps all departments in a dealerships to function smoothly by creating a central data warehouse for inventory levels, ordering, services, and customer information. Our solutions are designed to help manage dealer operations by tracking and storing data from every department and delivering information that will assist dealerships in making successful business Solutions.

Summary of Position

The focus of the Senior Financial Analyst is to be a key finance business partner supporting Lightspeed and to ensure our financial reporting is complete, accurate, and timely. This position is also responsible for providing analysis to Senior leadership to help make appropriate business decisions. This person works independently with minimal direction and supports complex cost and profit centers.

This is a remote, work from home position that works most often in the MST time zone. Applicants must be able to work a schedule that aligns.

*ideal candidates will reside in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area.

Position Responsibilities & Essential functions

  • Build and maintain excel-based financial models, standard excel-based reporting templates, and ad-hoc analyses
  • Work cross-functionally with Corporate FP&A, Accounting, and other organizations to gather, analyze, and present data
  • Monthly forecasting: prepare consolidating forecast, plan actual reports for review by senior leadership
  • Perform sense checks on business results
  • Research monthly variances to plans, forecast prior year, including running GL reports to access accounting data
  • Perform ad hoc modeling and analysis as needed
  • Strategic focus - ability and desire to dig deep in understanding the key drivers of the business and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Planning/Budgeting - Revenue /Expense / Balance Sheet / Cash Flow
  • Developing business partnerships with other departments
  • Presentation preparation - Monthly Review, Quarterly review, Op Plan, etc.

Qualifications & Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years' experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and accounting
  • Software industry experience strongly desired
  • Prior management or team lead experience preferred
  • Strong ability in:
  • Excel
  • Financial Modeling
  • Analytical skills
  • Budgeting for revenue and expense
  • Reporting
  • Strong communication skills
