ActioNet is seeking a Linux Administrator, able to obtain a Public Trust clearance. This position is located in Oklahoma City, OK. Supporting our federal client. This role is to provide technical operational support, administration and maintenance of the production applications and systems. This position offers outstanding self-driven learning potential, expects a high level of commitment, collaboration with various teams and inherent work ethic.
You will receive initial support and training to compliment the hands-on problem solving and technical skills (Unix/Linux/basic networking/client-server application concepts) you bring to the team, including the support of high-availability Red Hat Linux clusters and systems. You will have the opportunity to be involved with all facets of support including hardware transitions, OS support, applications support, creation of automated procedures, and performance tuning. This position involves operations and maintenance and special projects.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive team player who can work both independently and within a team environment. You must possess the ability to work in a challenging environment producing positive results that demonstrates a high degree of attention to quality, detail, correctness and deadlines in a multi-tasking, priority changing environment. Must be able to work with a variety of people and departments. Must be available to work and provide support after normal business hours on an ad hoc basis.
Responsibilities:• Support operating systems, platforms and components such as, Red Hat Linux and VMWare.• Monitor systems, report, and troubleshoot issues.• Conduct problem resolution and performance tuning/improvement• Configuration and maintenance of the VMware Red Hat Linux 6, 7, 8 and 9.• Document problems and resolutions in internal and organizational documentation.• Develop system automation process to reduce redundancy and user error.• Collaborate with cross functional teams for operational support, software deployment, deployment processes and projects.• Review system and application logs, and backup/verification/restore of system and application data. • Daily monitoring of the previous night's backups looking for issues and then resolving those issues.• Red Hat Linux backup and restore administration.• Participate on-call duties to provide afterhours support as required
Desirable skills:
• Working knowledge of Oracle database backup and restore administration.• Working knowledge of Avamar backup agents. • Working knowledge of Oracle RMAN interface agents to Data Domain backup appliances. • Working knowledge and experience addressing DISA STIG compliance. • PERL scripts automation.• Experience maintaining custom RPMs. This includes: Splunk forwarder, Tanium, Avamar, Microsoft MDE and others. • Working knowledge of Remedy Help Desk ticket management. • Experience maintaining Red Hat YUM repos and custom YUM reports.
Requirements:• US Citizenship
BS degree (+6 years of relevant experience for degree equivalence)
8+ years of experience in providing operations support of Redhat Linux Versions 6, 7, 8
8+ years of experience in enterprise implementations/build of Redhat Linux Versions 6, 7, 8• Hands-on technical skills, operational background, problem-solving and analytical skills, troubleshooting and root cause analysis• Experience with VMware virtualized environments• Working technical knowledge of shell scripting in -Shell/Perl, or Python. • Working technical knowledge of networking concepts such as IP, firewalls, routing and F5. Experience in NFS, SMTP, DNS, and SNMP• Knowledge and/or working experience in application infrastructure administration of the following platforms: JAVA, JBoss, Apache, Tomcat, Nginx, MFT/MFITS, Apache httpd• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in working with technical and non-technical people and the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships among all levels of an organization.• Ability to perform on-call duties including triage, communication of, and resolution of technical issues.• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks• Good interpersonal skills with strong customer service orientation• Work independently on a given task with little to minimum assistance and within the framework of a team• Experience with DevOps, Lean or/and other agile methodologies (not required but a plus)
