Linux Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Linux Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux administration, architecture, and design. The Linux architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex Linux-based systems. They will work closely with other members of the IT team and key business members to ensure that all systems are running efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Linux-based systems.
• Standardize, maintain and deploy Linux OS images and software packages.
• Ensure that systems are secure and reliable.
• Increase efficiency within the I.T. department through designing, streamlining and automating processes.
• Develop and maintain configuration management solutions.
• Design and develop infrastructure monitoring and reporting tools.
• Monitor and tune performance to ensure high availability of Linux-based systems.
• Work with members of IT, Project Management Organizations, and business leadership to architect IT solutions that meet business requirements.
• Evaluate new technologies and trends in order to make recommendation on how they can be implemented to positively impact the company.
• Provide technical support and guidance to team members.
• System configuration and troubleshooting.
• Disaster recovery design and planning.

Qualifications

Required:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant certifications.
• 8+ years of experience in Linux administration.
• Proven experience as a Linux architectengineer or similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux systems (Red Hat, ect) and architecture.
• Experience with Linux servers in virtualized environments.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.

Preferred:

• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS and Azure.
• Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
• Experience in supporting Linux servers running Oracle and SAP.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Proficient in English both written and spoken.
